Schools Service
The Schools Service provides universal, targeted and specialist support for school aged children in Haringey:
- School Nursing
- Allied Health Professionals - physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy
School Nursing
Each school in Haringey has a named School Nurse who is based at a local health centre and visits the school on a regular basis. School Nurses are the key health professional for all children and young people in full time education. Their key roles are
- Safeguarding
- Immunisations
- Advice, information and training to school staff on both specific health issues (i.e.: epilepsy) and whole school health (i.e.: healthy eating)
- Monitoring the health of children with special needs, together with School Doctors
- Enuresis clinics
- Health promotion
